Cut and programmed at the car

Many modern car keys and fobs have to be programmed to the vehicle as well as cut. We do both where the vehicle supports it, for many makes and models, wherever the car is parked: in Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma or another city we serve.

Types of car keys

  • Blade key: a cut metal key with no chip, common on older vehicles.
  • Transponder key: a cut key with a chip inside; the car will not start until the chip is programmed to it.
  • Remote key or key fob: locks and unlocks the doors with buttons; most also carry a transponder chip.
  • Proximity (smart) key: stays in your pocket or bag; the car detects it to unlock and start.

Tell us which one you have when you call. Transponder, remote and smart keys need programming as well as cutting, and we do both where the vehicle supports it.

Have these details ready

The make, model and year of the vehicle, and the VIN if you can find it: it is usually on the dashboard by the windshield or on the driver’s door frame.

Keys locked inside?

If the key is in the car and you can’t get to it, you need a car lockout instead.
